Roma are still in the market for an attacking player and they have turned their attention to Arsenal’s Martinelli.
Roma are exploring a potential move for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli as Gian Piero Gasperini continues his search for a new attacking option before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Giallorossi have spent much of the summer looking for a forward who can add pace and versatility to their attack, with Gasperini repeatedly making it clear that he wants a right-footed attacker capable of operating from the left. After failing to close deals for Summerville and Greenwood, Arsenal’s Martinelli has now emerged as one of the names under consideration.
Martinelli Could Offer Roma the Experience They Need
According to reports from Italy, Roma sporting director Tony D’Amico has started examining alternative options, with Martinelli now viewed as a potential solution. The Brazilian’s situation at Arsenal could make a move particularly interesting, as he has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have also strengthened their options in Martinelli’s position this summer by signing Christos Tzolis, potentially making the Brazilian’s route to regular first-team football more difficult. That could encourage the 25-year-old to consider a new challenge after several seasons in north London.
However, Roma would still face a significant financial commitment to complete the deal. Reports suggest Arsenal could demand between €40 million and €45 million for Martinelli, while his current salary is understood to be around €11 million gross per season.

Martinelli would nevertheless represent a proven option for Gasperini rather than another developing prospect. Since joining Arsenal, he has established himself as an explosive winger capable of attacking defenders, stretching opposition defences and contributing goals from the left side.
Roma’s alternative is Mora, with the Portuguese teenager attracting attention after his rapid rise at Porto. The 19-year-old would offer a different profile from Martinelli, with greater emphasis on long-term potential rather than Premier League experience.
Gasperini’s preference for a new left-sided attacker has been clear, but Roma’s difficulty in completing previous deals means there is still no certainty over who will arrive.
