Winger was on Manchester United’s radar but a move was difficult with Marcus Rashford back in the squad
Al-Hilal have completed the signing of Crysencio Summerville from West Ham after the winger agreed a four-year contract in a deal worth more than €70m (£60m).
The 24-year-old underwent a medical in Amsterdam before finalising the move, which had been identified as a priority by Al-Hilal’s new ownership. The transfer package is worth £55m plus a further £5m in potential add-ons, taking the overall value beyond €70m.
Summerville leaves West Ham despite having four years remaining on the contract he signed after joining from Leeds United in 2024. His departure had been widely expected following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, with West Ham prepared to consider offers in the region of £50m.
Manchester United were considering a move for the winger but a transfer was always going to be dependent on Marcus Rashford’s future.
Summerville made 34 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. Across two seasons at the London Stadium, he played 56 matches after arriving from Leeds.
He also impressed at this summer’s World Cup, contributing two goals and two assists in four appearances before the Netherlands were eliminated by Morocco on penalties in the last 32.
