Striker is the latest United player to publicly support Carrick, following similar comments from Amad Diallo
Benjamin Sesko has backed Michael Carrick to be appointed permanently as head coach of Manchester United following the club’s recent upturn in form.
United moved to the brink of Champions League qualification after a 2-1 win over Brentford at Old Trafford on Monday. Carrick, who took charge in January, has overseen a strong run of results that could secure a return to Europe’s top competition.
Sesko, who scored United’s second goal in the victory and his 11th in all competitions so far this season, praised Carrick’s impact and said he wants the former midfielder to remain in charge next season.
“He’s an amazing coach, I’ve said this many times,” Sesko said. “He’s brought different energy. Also the way we’re doing in the training, it’s unbelievable and of course, I would like to have him here.”

United now need two points from their remaining four matches to guarantee Champions League qualification, having last featured in the competition in the 2023-24 season. That target could be achieved this weekend when Liverpool visit Old Trafford.
“We’re in a good place,” Sesko said. “We have to keep it up like this. We’re looking forward to the next game, to try and secure the Champions League. I’m looking forward.”
