The 45-year-old guided Inter to their 21st Scudetto in his first full season as a senior head coach, sealing the title with three matches still left to play in the campaign.
Chivu arrived under difficult circumstances last summer after Simone Inzaghi departed the club, leaving the Romanian with only a few days to prepare the team ahead of the Club World Cup and the new domestic season.
Despite inheriting a squad coming off a disappointing trophyless campaign, Chivu quickly transformed Inter into the strongest side in Serie A and now has the chance to complete the season with another trophy in the Coppa Italia final against Lazio on Wednesday.

Inter president Beppe Marotta has repeatedly expressed his desire to build long-term stability around Chivu, and reports from Gazzetta dello Sport suggest the club are now ready to formalise that commitment.
The proposed agreement would extend Chivu’s current deal by an additional year until June 2028, while also increasing his annual salary from €2.1 million to €3 million per season.
What makes Chivu’s achievement even more remarkable is the fact that this is effectively his first full campaign as a senior coach, having previously managed Parma for only 13 matches in 2025 after spending six years working within Inter’s youth academy setup between 2018 and 2024.
