Como sporting director Carlalberto Ludi has moved to cool speculation surrounding Cesc Fabregas, insisting the club expects to continue its journey with the highly rated coach despite links to Chelsea and Arsenal.

Como have attempted to shut down growing speculation surrounding the future of Cesc Fabregas, with sporting director Carlalberto Ludi insisting the club remains calm and confident that the Spaniard will stay put despite mounting Premier League interest.

Fabregas has quickly become one of Europe’s most talked-about young coaches, and his work in Italy has inevitably attracted attention from clubs searching for fresh leadership.

Now nearing the end of his second full campaign as coach, Fabregas has overseen a remarkable rise at Como. After guiding the newly promoted side to an impressive 10th-place finish last season, he has taken them even further this year, with Como sitting fifth in Serie A and still within touching distance of the Champions League places with only four matches remaining.

For a club that was not expected to compete anywhere near Europe, it has been one of the stories of the Italian season.

That progress has naturally put Fabregas on the radar elsewhere. In England, both Chelsea and Arsenal have been mentioned as admirers. Chelsea are actively searching for a new head coach after parting company with Liam Rosenior, while Arsenal have reportedly identified the former midfielder as a potential long-term successor should they ever need to replace Mikel Arteta.

The Arsenal angle has gained particular intrigue because of Fabregas’s history with the North London club. Formerly one of the most iconic captains of the Emirates era, he is viewed by some observers as a natural candidate to return one day in a managerial role.

Reports this week from England suggest there is already a belief in certain circles that managing Arsenal forms part of his long-term career path, making any current approach from Chelsea potentially less attractive.

Despite all of that noise, Como’s leadership has publicly projected complete composure. Ludi stated on Wednesday that the club is fully aligned with Fabregas and focused only on the final stretch of the campaign. While acknowledging that football always carries uncertainty, the sporting director said he is sure the relationship will continue and that both coach and club remain united in trying to finish what has already become a historic season.

Como president Mirwan Suwarso has taken a slightly more philosophical stance. He admitted that no club can truly own a coach’s future and that if Fabregas ever decided a move elsewhere made him happier, Como would have to accept that reality. At the same time, he made no secret of the fact that the club would love to keep him for as long as possible, a sign of just how central the Spaniard has become to their broader project.

Fabregas himself appears determined not to let the speculation derail the immediate objective. Speaking recently, he insisted he would be crazy to focus on anything other than Como’s remaining fixtures and the possibility of leading the club into European competition for the first time in its history. Rather than entertain transfer talk, he stressed that all of his attention is currently fixed on squeezing every last point out of a season that could yet become transformational.
