Gordon off the mark
Anthony Gordon scored his first goal for Barcelona as Hansi Flick’s side maintained their perfect start to the season with a 3-0 victory over Getafe at the Camp Nou.
The England winger struck inside two minutes before Gabriel Jesus doubled the hosts’ advantage and Jules Kounde completed the scoring in the second half. Barcelona have now won all eight of their league matches, moving five points clear of Atletico Madrid and opening a nine-point gap over fourth-placed Real Madrid, who have a game in hand.

Raphinha on fire
Raphinha scored a hat-trick for the second game in a row as Barcelona recovered from falling behind early to beat Sevilla 3-1 and maintain their perfect start to the season.
The Brazilian now has 14 goals in all competitions, a total of eight games. He scored a hat-trick in the 7-2 demolition of Racing Santander on Wednesday, before following it up with another sublime performance at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium three days later.

Barca’s best ever start to a season
Racing Santander were the latest victims of Barcelona’s attack as Flick’s side ran out 7-2 winners at the Camp Nou, with Raphinha scoring a hat-trick and Barcelona reaching 28 goals in their opening six league games.
The visitors managed to score twice and briefly made the result less comfortable than the final score suggests, but Barcelona’s attack was simply too much to deal with. Raphinha led the way, while Joao Cancelo, Gabriel Jesus and Lamine Yamal also got on the scoresheet, with an own goal completing the rout.
The victory gives Flick a remarkable seventh straight win at the start of the campaign in all competitions. It is the club’s best ever start to a season in their illustrious history.
More importantly, Barcelona are scoring at a very high rate: they have now scored at least four goals in five of their six league matches.
There is a small warning in the two goals conceded, but it is being drowned out by the sheer volume of goals at the other end. Barcelona are top of La Liga and already three points clear of Real Madrid.

Another test, another win
Barcelona’s perfect start survived a much tougher test at Levante. Flick’s side won 4-2 away from home, but had to work for the result after Levante twice threatened to bring themselves back into the game.
Barcelona’s attacking quality eventually shone through, with the visitors finding enough openings to maintain their winning run.
It’s six wins from six in La Liga now. Barcelona are scoring heavily and have established themselves at the top of the table. The schedule is beginning to become more demanding, but so far there has been little to interrupt the Blaugrana momentum.

Five against Feyenoord
Barcelona’s excellent start to the season continued into Europe as Hansi Flick’s side swept aside Feyenoord 5-1 at the Camp Nou.
Raphinha put Barcelona ahead before the Dutch side briefly threatened to make a contest of it, but the response was immediate. Lamine Yamal restored the advantage before half-time and Barcelona pulled away after the break, with further goals completing a convincing opening-night victory in the Champions League.
The result means Barcelona have now won every competitive match this season, with the attack continuing to produce goals at a remarkable rate.
There is still plenty of football to come, but Flick could hardly have asked for a better start. Barcelona are scoring freely, Raphinha is looking like one of the best strikers in the world, and the early signs suggest last season’s La Liga-winning side have not lost their appetite.

Three points clear at the top
Barcelona took full advantage of Real Madrid’s defeat this weekend, sweeping Valencia aside 5-0 at Mestalla to open a three-point lead at the top of La Liga. Lamine Yamal was at the centre of an emphatic attacking display, scoring twice and having a third goal ruled out for offside. Fermin Lopez, Raphinha and Pedri completed the rout to continue the perfect start to the season.

Ravenous against Rayo
Barcelona continue to reap the rewards of a fast, fluid frontline. With new €10m signing Gabriel Jesus watching on from the stands, Hansi Flick’s attacking contingent displayed the ruthlessness to their game in a 5-2 rout of Rayo Vallecano. Barcelona are top of the table on goal difference.

Barcelona 2-0 Athletic Club
Easy as you like for the first home game of the season, although an excellent Unai Simon tried to frustrate Barcelona here, making eight vital saves. At the other end, his team failed to trouble Barcelona and ended the game with no shot on target. Rodri made his debut when he came on in the second half.

A perfect start to the season
Barcelona started the season smooth as silk, sweeping Elche easily aside in a five-goal rout. The attack of Fermin Lopez, Raphinha, Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon went past Elche’s defence like knife through butter.
Raphinha starred in a false-nine role and ended the match with a brace. Gordon looked good too when he came on in the second half.

Barcelona’s striker search hits another roadblock
Of course it has not quite been good news all round for Barcelona
The club’s search for a striker Julian Alvarez to replace Robert Lewandowski has hit a granite wall. It has done all summer – but Barcelona have kept bashing themselves against that wall; Atlético Madrid are refusing to budge on Julián Alvarez.
Barcelona have continued to pursue the deal, but with no breakthrough, the club may have to decide whether to keep pushing or turn their attention elsewhere.

Barcelona seek to make it three La Liga titles in a row under Hansi Flick
It has been a good two years at Barcelona under Hansi Flick. Sure enough, the club are less than pleased with their performances in Europe in that time, but domestically they have been triumphant.
Barcelona have won La Liga back to back, won the Spanish Super Cup back to back, and won the Copa del Rey in 2025.
That’s five out of the six trophies available in Spain. To make things sweeter, their rivals Real Madrid have won nothing. Barcelona have also beaten them on six occasions in seven meetings over the past two seasons, four of those victories directly ending in a trophy.
Pipping them to the signing of arguably one of the best midfielders of all time this summer would suggest Barcelona are also serious about continuing that dominance.
Picture Spain’s chokehold on teams at the World Cup this year. That’s the sort of domination Barcelona have been gunning for in Spain.
