Belgium should easily go through group E of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Egypt, New Zealand and Iran finishing in second, third and fourth place.
Group G of the 2026 World Cup will feature Belgium, Egypt, Iran and New Zealand.
Belgium and Iran featured in the 2022 editions of the World Cup and will be looking to pick up where they left off last time. Egypt return to the World Cup having missed the 2022 edition while New Zealand make their first appearance in 16 years.

Belgium
Belgium come into the 2026 World Cup on the last legs of its golden generation. Filled with stars like Hazard, Mertens, Lukaku, Courtois and De Bruyne to name a few, Belgium were one of the best teams in Europe.
However, its golden generation failed to win anything.

Now on its last legs, Belgium return to the World Cup for one last push for a trophy before a new generation takes over. In group G, they are heavy favorites to qualify and it will be difficult to stop a frontline of Lukaku, Doku, Openda and De Bruyne.
They may not win the World Cup but the group stage shouldn’t be too much of a problem for them.
Egypt
The Pharaohs of Egypt are back on the World’s stage for the first time since 2018.
Although Salah is nearing the end of his career having announced that he will be moving away from Liverpool at the end of the season, he is still Egypt’s main man.

Pairing with Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush, Egypt are a dangerous team on the counter or if given space to pounce. Not much is expected from Salah and Egypt but they can easily finish second.
Iran
Despite the back and forth with Trump and FIFA, Iran will play at the 2026 World Cup, however, their World Cup base will be at the borders of Mexico.
Iran are a very physical team and that will be their main weapon when they face the likes of Egypt and Belgium.
Although they are ranked 25th in the world, Iran aren’t necessarily expected to make it out of the group, especially given Belgium’s prowess but if luck is on their side, they can challenge Egypt for second place.
The prolific Mehdi Taremi will lead the team from the front and hopefully he can supply the goals that made him famous some seasons ago at Porto.
New Zealand
New Zealand are back at the World Cup and for the first time in 16 years. Their journey to the 2026 FIFA World Cup is one for the books as they won all five of their OFC qualifying matches, before demolishing Fiji 7-0 in the semi-final and then beating New Caledonia 3-0 in the final.
In this qualifying run, they conceded only one goal, showing how solid they can be defensively.
Coming into group G, they would play a low-block while using counterattacks and their physical strength to bully their opponents.
Chris Wood will be the focal point of the attack and if they can get him into the action, they are very certain of scoring a few goals.
