Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti is reportedly keen to sign Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae, rekindling their successful partnership from Napoli.

Juventus are reportedly exploring a summer move for Kim Min-jae, with head coach Luciano Spalletti eager to reunite with the defender.

The pair previously enjoyed a highly successful spell together at Napoli, where they won the Serie A title during the 2022–23 season. That triumph marked Napoli’s first league title in over three decades, dating back to the era of Diego Maradona.

Following that campaign, Kim secured a move to Bayern Munich after the Bundesliga giants triggered his release clause, reportedly worth over €50 million, making him the most expensive Asian footballer in history. However, the South Korean international has struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter in Germany. Under Vincent Kompany, Kim has often found himself behind defenders such as Jonathan Tah and Dayot Upamecano in the pecking order.

Reports suggest that Spalletti would gladly welcome Kim to Turin, believing their previous success in Italy could help convince the defender to make a return to Serie A.

Despite the interest, any potential deal may prove complicated. Kim still has two years remaining on his contract, and Bayern are expected to demand a fee in the region of €40 million. Financial considerations could also play a role, with Kim reportedly earning a substantial salary in Germany. A move to Juventus may require the defender to accept a reduction in wages.
