Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has withdrawn from the Germany squad after suffering a muscle strain in the 1-1 Nations League draw with the Netherlands, with the 27-year-old returning to his club for further assessment.
Havertz was forced off after around 30 minutes in Amsterdam after appearing to suffer discomfort in his left rear thigh. He had earlier taken a heavy challenge from Netherlands midfielder Quinten Timber before eventually being replaced by Germany debutant Younes Ebnoutalib.

The German Football Association (DFB) has since confirmed that Havertz suffered a muscle strain, although it has not given a specific timeframe for his return. He will leave the national-team camp and undergo further assessment with Arsenal.
The injury will be a concern for Arsenal, particularly with Havertz having started all five of their Premier League matches this season. The forward has made seven appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.
More Injuries In The International Break
Havertz was not the only major injury concern for Germany during Jürgen Klopp’s first game in charge.
Bayern Munich forward Jamal Musiala was ruled out before kick-off after suffering a thigh problem during the warm-up. An MRI scan subsequently revealed a tear in his right thigh, with reports suggesting he could face around three to four weeks on the sidelines.

Klopp confirmed after the match that both players would undergo scans, while the DFB later announced that they would leave the squad.
There was an injury concern on the Netherlands side too, with Brian Brobbey forced off during the first half.
The Sunderland striker, who had scored a hat-trick against Manchester City before the international break, appeared to suffer a muscle problem and was replaced during the match.
