Roma have reportedly agreed personal terms with Mason Greenwood and are preparing to submit their first official bid to Marseille.

Roma are stepping up their pursuit of Mason Greenwood after reportedly reaching an agreement on personal terms with the Marseille forward.

The Serie A club are now preparing to submit their first formal offer as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

The Giallorossi have been heavily linked with the former Manchester United forward throughout the summer.

Reports from Italy suggest Greenwood has already given the green light to the proposed move.

Roma and Greenwood’s representatives have agreed on the framework of a five-year contract. The English forward is expected to earn around €4.5 million per season in guaranteed wages, with additional performance-related bonuses included in the deal.

The proposed salary package could increase over the duration of the contract, depending on appearances, individual performances, and the club’s success in domestic and European competitions.

With the personal terms reportedly settled, Roma are now ready to begin negotiations with Marseille. The Italian side are expected to submit an opening bid worth around €45 million, including bonuses and a future sell-on clause.

Marseille, however, are understood to value Greenwood at around €55 million. That leaves a gap of approximately €10 million between the two clubs, although there is growing confidence that a compromise can be reached through further negotiations.

Reports in Italy suggest both clubs remain open to finding common ground, with Roma determined to complete the transfer before rival clubs can make their own move.

If an agreement is reached, Greenwood would become one of Roma’s marquee signings of the summer.
