Paulo Dybala has signed a new one-year contract with Roma, rejecting interest from Boca Juniors to remain a key part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans.
Paulo Dybala has committed his future to Roma after agreeing to sign a new one-year contract, bringing an end to speculation surrounding his future in the Italian capital.
The Argentine playmaker had seen his previous deal expire, temporarily leaving him as a free agent, but he is now set to officially restore his status as a Roma player by signing fresh terms.
The new agreement will keep Dybala at the Stadio Olimpico for the 2026-27 season, although the contract does not include an option to extend for another year.
Dybala had initially pushed for a longer stay, but Roma’s improved financial package, reportedly worth close to €3 million net per season plus performance-related bonuses, helped both parties reach an agreement.

The 31-year-old also attracted interest from Boca Juniors, with close friend and former teammate Leandro Paredes reportedly encouraging him to return to Argentina, but Dybala remained determined to continue his career in Rome.
He is expected to return to the Italian capital on Sunday after completing the paperwork before reporting to Roma’s Trigoria training centre on Monday for the start of pre-season under new head coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Roma see Dybala as one of the pillars of Gasperini’s new project, with the experienced forward expected to play a leading role both on and off the pitch as the club prepares for another Champions League campaign.
His importance was underlined at the end of last season when, after returning from injury, Dybala produced four assists in his first three starts to help guide Roma to a third-place Serie A finish and secure qualification for Europe’s premier club competition.
