Newcastle United are increasingly open to selling Nick Woltemade this summer as the club prepares for major squad changes and fresh attacking reinforcements.

Newcastle United are facing the serious possibility of Nick Woltemade leaving the club this summer, with sources suggesting the striker will almost certainly depart if a suitable offer arrives.

The Magpies are preparing for a significant squad reshuffle ahead of next season, and difficult decisions are expected as the club attempts to balance financial considerations with ambitions of remaining competitive at the highest level.

While much of the focus remains on the futures of key stars such as Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali, Newcastle are also prepared to listen to offers for Woltemade despite the sizeable investment made to bring him to the club.

The German forward was initially signed as part of the club’s long-term attacking plans following concerns over replacing Alexander Isak. Internally, Newcastle believed Woltemade had the profile and potential to develop into a central figure in their attack for years to come. However, the situation has changed considerably over the course of the season. Although there were early signs of promise, the striker has struggled to establish himself consistently in Eddie Howe’s plans and has failed to build sustained momentum.

Inconsistency and limited opportunities have contributed to a frustrating campaign for both player and club, with discussions now expected regarding the best path forward. Woltemade is understood to be unwilling to settle for a peripheral role moving into next season.

Sources close to the situation indicate Newcastle may have to accept a substantial financial loss if they decide to sanction a transfer. The club reportedly recognises that recovering the full £69 million fee paid to sign him from Stuttgart is highly unlikely under current circumstances.

Despite that reality, Newcastle remain determined to strengthen their squad this summer and are already exploring options for a new attacking addition. Interest in Woltemade is expected to emerge from several clubs across Europe if Newcastle officially open the door to offers, with a return to Germany seen as one possible outcome for the 23-year-old forward.
