The Dutch suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at home in their final warm-up match before departing for the United States, where they will continue their preparations for the tournament with another friendly against Uzbekistan.
A frustrated Koeman admitted he was unhappy with the result, insisting that a team of the Netherlands’ stature should be winning such matches, especially on home soil.
The Dutch coach felt his team started brightly and controlled the opening stages of the contest, creating several clear opportunities that should have put the game beyond their opponents. However, their inability to convert those chances proved costly.

According to Koeman, the match changed after the first 25 minutes as his side gradually lost control and made life more difficult for themselves. He pointed to a lack of aggression and intensity, suggesting his players became too passive as the game wore on.
The decisive moment arrived four minutes from time when Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa scored the winning goal for Algeria, silencing the home crowd and leaving the Dutch camp with plenty to think about before their departure.
Despite calling the defeat a wake-up call, Koeman dismissed any suggestion of panic. Instead, he stressed the need for his players to correct their mistakes and sharpen every aspect of their game before the World Cup gets underway.
