Edgar Davids criticises Tottenham’s lack of quality and management, warning the struggling club face a tough battle to avoid Premier League relegation.

Edgar Davids has delivered a scathing assessment of Tottenham Hotspur, warning that his former club face a serious battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League. Tottenham currently find themselves in the relegation zone after a disastrous campaign, sitting two points adrift of safety with just five matches remaining.

The North London side have endured a turbulent season, already cycling through three managers, with Roberto De Zerbi the latest to take charge in a bid to rescue their faltering campaign.

Despite backing De Zerbi’s appointment, Davids expressed deep concern about the structural issues at the club, pointing to what he described as a lack of quality and poor management decisions.

The former Netherlands international suggested Tottenham’s struggles were predictable, arguing that insufficient investment in the squad has left them unable to compete at the required level. Davids also highlighted the club’s failure to strengthen during the winter transfer window, especially with injuries affecting key players, as a major factor behind their decline.

Having enjoyed a distinguished career with clubs such as Ajax, AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, and Inter Milan, Davids stressed that ambition and smart planning are essential to avoid such a downturn.

With Tottenham winless in the league since December and facing a crucial trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, the pressure continues to mount as they fight to preserve their top-flight status.
