PSG forward Ousmane Dembele will undergo treatment for a calf issue ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal later this month.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Ousmane Dembele will undergo treatment for a right calf issue ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal later this month. The French forward was substituted after just 30 minutes during PSG’s 2-1 Ligue 1 defeat to Paris FC on Sunday after experiencing discomfort in his calf.

In an official statement released on Monday, the club explained that Dembele was withdrawn as a precaution and will now receive treatment over the coming days.

Despite concerns surrounding the Ballon d’Or winner’s condition, the 29-year-old did not appear to be in visible pain after the match and was seen boarding the team bus without any signs of limping.

PSG manager Luis Enrique attempted to calm fears over the severity of the issue, suggesting fatigue may have played a role following a demanding end to the campaign. Dembele has dealt with several physical problems throughout the season, particularly recurring thigh and calf injuries, making his fitness a key concern ahead of the biggest match of PSG’s season.

There was more positive news elsewhere for the French champions, with Achraf Hakimi returning to individual training after a thigh problem, while Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes, and Lucas Chevalier also resumed recovery work after missing the defeat to Paris FC.

PSG head into the Champions League final in Budapest on May 30th aiming to defend the European crown they won for the first time in club history last season, having already secured a fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title earlier this month.
