Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi confirmed James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Dominic Solanke are unavailable for the Premier League clash against Leeds United as Spurs continue their fight for survival.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that several key players will miss his side’s crucial Premier League meeting with Leeds United as Spurs continue their battle to avoid relegation.

Tottenham currently sit 17th in the table on 37 points with just three matches remaining. Consecutive away victories against Wolves and Aston Villa have lifted the North London club out of the bottom three for the first time in weeks, giving renewed hope under De Zerbi.

Leeds, meanwhile, are six points above Tottenham and appear close to securing survival despite only returning to the Premier League this season. De Zerbi’s side know another positive result could significantly strengthen their position heading into the final stretch of the campaign.

The Italian coach also addressed the future of Joao Palhinha, who joined Tottenham on loan from Bayern Munich last summer. Palhinha has impressed under De Zerbi, including scoring the winner against Wolves, and the Spurs boss admitted he wants the midfielder to remain at the club permanently.

“100%. We have to start from this type of people,” De Zerbi said. “More than players, we need reliable people and players and Palhinha is one of the best, both as a footballer and as a person.”

However, Tottenham’s preparations have been disrupted by injuries to several important first-team players. De Zerbi confirmed that goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario will not be available, despite the player’s desire to return and help the team during the run-in.

The Spurs boss also revealed that James Maddison is still struggling to regain full match sharpness, while striker Dominic Solanke remains doubtful. De Zerbi praised Maddison’s quality but stressed that the physical demands and intensity of the Premier League make it difficult to rush players back before they are fully ready.

Despite the injury setbacks, Tottenham head into the Leeds clash with growing belief after recent improvements in form. De Zerbi will hope his side can maintain their momentum and take another major step toward Premier League survival.
