Como are preparing another improved offer for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as the ambitious Serie A side step up their efforts to complete the deal within the next 24 hours.
The Italian club had already submitted a fresh proposal earlier in the day after Inter Milan withdrew from the race. With the Nerazzurri no longer pursuing the England international, Como have accelerated negotiations in a bid to secure his signature.
Reports indicate that Como’s latest offer was worth €25 million plus an additional €5-6 million in performance-related bonuses. However, Chelsea quickly rejected the proposal as it fell short of their valuation.
The Blues are insisting on receiving €30 million as a guaranteed transfer fee, with a further €5 million in bonuses, taking the total package to €35 million.
Despite the setback, Como remain determined to finalise the transfer. The club is now working on a revised proposal that will increase the fixed fee while restructuring the bonus payments to make the overall package more appealing to Chelsea.
Previous add-ons were largely tied to the number of appearances Chalobah would make, but Como are expected to adjust those clauses in an effort to satisfy Chelsea’s demands and bring negotiations to a successful conclusion.
The 27-year-old defender offers valuable versatility, being equally capable of playing as a central defender or at right-back. He remains under contract with Chelsea until June 2028, with the club also holding the option to extend his deal by a further year.
Chalobah’s reputation has continued to grow following his involvement with England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he helped the Three Lions secure a third-place finish. Como are hopeful that an improved offer will finally convince Chelsea to sanction his move to Serie A.
