Inter have made Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah their next transfer priority after completing a deal for Anan Khalaili.

Inter have turned their full attention to signing Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah after wrapping up a deal for Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise.

The Nerazzurri are eager to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season and have identified the English centre-back as their primary target.

The Serie A giants are searching for reinforcements following the departures of experienced defenders Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, both of whom left the club as free agents. Bringing in a reliable central defender has now become one of Inter’s biggest priorities in the transfer market.

Talks between Inter and Chalobah’s representatives have reportedly been ongoing for several weeks, with personal terms not expected to present any major obstacles. However, negotiations with Chelsea are yet to produce an agreement over the transfer fee.

Reports suggest Chelsea are demanding around €40 million for the 26-year-old, although other sources claim the Blues would be willing to accept a figure closer to €35 million.

According to reports, Chelsea recently attempted to include Chalobah in a player-plus-cash proposal for Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix. However, the England international reportedly rejected the opportunity to return to Selhurst Park.

The report adds that Chalobah has made it clear his preferred destination is Inter, with the defender keen on making the move to San Siro this summer rather than remaining in the Premier League.

Chelsea have also attracted interest from Como, who have already seen two offers for Chalobah rejected. The ambitious Serie A club explored a deal but appear to have stepped back from the race.

Como president Mirwan Suwarso is said to have informed Inter president Beppe Marotta that his club has no intention of entering a bidding war with the Nerazzurri. That leaves Inter in pole position to secure Chalobah’s signature, provided they can reach a financial agreement with Chelsea in the coming weeks.
