Chelsea face Tottenham in their final home game of the season, in a last-ditch effort to fight for a European spot.

Coming off the FA Cup final loss to Manchester City, Chelsea are now facing the reality that they may completely miss out on European football next season. 

Champions League football is out of their grasp as they will not finish in the top five, while missing out on the FA Cup trophy means they blew their easiest shot at European football. 

The Blues will need to beat Tottenham this weekend and Sunderland next week while hoping other results go in their favor so that they can make Europa League football, or they could settle for Conference League.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are fighting to avoid relegation. West Ham’s loss to Newcastle means Tottenham still remains two points ahead of the Hammers.  A draw could almost guarantee that they stay in the Premier League, but a win could seal the deal with one game to go.

Both teams will be going all out in this derby, fighting for maximum points. 

Team News 

Chelsea had to take off Joao Pedro in the FA Cup final after he slipped and hurt himself. The striker who was left out of Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup is now a doubt for today’s game. The good news for Chelsea, apart from announcing Xabi Alonso as head coach, is that Pedro Neto, Sanchez, and Garnacho are available for selection. 

Tottenham could see Maddison in action again following his cameo against Leeds, after returning from a lengthy time on the sidelines.
