Chelsea were once again the winning side after a thrilling seven-goal encounter against Brighton.
Chelsea welcomed Brighton and Hove Albion to Stamford Bridge in their second Premier League game of the season, and just like they did against Fulham, it was an exciting watch.
Emi Martinez made his Chelsea debut just a few hours after being announced as a Chelsea player, and it was the first eye-catching moment of the game. The Blues then began to pile pressure on the visitors and in the fourth minute, they scored a goal.

A defensive error from Brighton caused the ball to bounce around the area and, unfortunately, to the feet of Lavia, who tapped it in from close range.
The Blues continued to pile on the pressure, and 10 minutes later, they doubled their lead. Rogers beat his marker in the box after a sublime passage of play and found the feet of Pedro Neto, who slotted home to make it 2-0.
Brighton needed to get the next goal, and they began to pressure their host, calling debutant Emi Martinez into action a couple of times. Brighton’s focus on scoring left them open defensively. Joao Pedro missed a tap-in from the penalty spot but made up for it a couple of minutes later.
Chelsea stole possession from Brighton and started a counterattack. Jorrel Hato pushed up from the edge of his own box and rode the challenge of his marker before passing it to the feet of Joao Pedro, who finally got his goal.

At 3-0, Chelsea looked like they were going to pull away, but they were pegged back just three minutes later by Brighton. Emi Martinez made a fine deny of Brighton at the first attempt, but the rebound fell to Yalcouye, who slammed his shot on the bar and into the net.
Chelsea took a 3-1 lead into half-time and nearly made it 4, but Joao Pedro couldn’t find the back of the net. Both teams had back-to-back chances to score, but Gomez and Palmer missed the frame of the goal from close range.
Brighton, however, scored the next goal as Joao Pedro deflected Gross’ cross into the back of the net. The visitors could smell an equalizer, and they continued to push, only to be dunked on by Cole Palmer, who dazzled his way into the box and got Chelsea’s fourth.

Although it was 4-2, it still felt like there was one more goal in the game. Brighton eventually got that goal in the 6th minute of added time but it was a little too late as the referee blew the final whistle at the restart to end the game 4-3.
Chelsea win another edgy game but they won’t think much about that as the three points are in the bag.
