Arsenal were rescued by a late penalty from Kai Havertz as they snatched a draw vs Bayer Leverkusen
Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen met to fight for a place in the UCL quarter-finals, and from the get-go, it was a tough tie. Both teams struggled to really create any chances, but Arsenal almost took the lead early in the game when Gabriel Martinelli saw his shot come off the bar.

Leverkusen weren’t shaken by the pedigree of Arsenal as they took the game to them and with the crowd behind them, the game just felt like it would offer more than a 0-0 draw
In the second half, Leverkusen came guns-a-blazing, and just seconds after kickoff, they almost took the lead as Terrier saw his header pushed over the bar. In a remarkable turn of events, Bayer Leverkusen scored from the resulting corner as Andrich was left unmarked at the back post and headed the ball home.
Arsenal pushed for the equalizer and threw everything at it, but the Bayer Leverkusen defence held firm. Leverkusen also had chances on the counter to increase their lead, but it wouldn’t just fall for them. However, with just a few minutes to go, Arsenal were awarded a penalty. Former Leverkusen man, Kai Havertz, stepped up and slotted the ball into the bottom left corner to pull Arsenal level.
Arsenal now take a draw to Emirates, where they must win to avoid dropping from the UCL.
