Ruben Amorim says he has no negative feelings towards Manchester United after AC Milan beat his former club 4-2 in a pre-season friendly in Poland.
Ruben Amorim insists he has moved on from Manchester United after leading AC Milan to an impressive 4-2 victory over his former club in a pre-season friendly in Wroclaw, Poland.
The result provided another reminder that Manchester United still have work to do before the new Premier League season begins. AC Milan dominated large portions of the contest, with the six-goal thriller giving Amorim a memorable victory against the club that dismissed him just seven months ago.

Amorim had been out of work since January after leaving United, with Michael Carrick subsequently taking charge. His move to AC Milan has offered the Portuguese coach an opportunity to rebuild his reputation, and the victory over his former employers represented a positive moment in his early tenure.
Despite the difficult ending to his time at Old Trafford, Amorim made it clear that he still has affection for Manchester United. However, he insists his focus is now entirely on his new role in Italy.
“It’s a normal game. Since I signed with Milan, I haven’t felt anything about Manchester United,” Amorim said after the match. He added that he remains proud of his time at United but feels completely comfortable with where his career has taken him.
“I’m just proud to have been at Manchester United, and I still love Manchester United, but after signing with Milan, I don’t feel anything negative about anything because I’m very happy,” Amorim explained. “I’m where I should be.”
The friendly also highlighted the continued personal relationships between Amorim and members of his former United staff. Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes greeted Amorim’s coaching team before and after the match, underlining that their professional separation has not erased the friendships built during their time together.
Amorim will now turn his attention fully towards AC Milan’s preparations for the new campaign. The Rossoneri begin their Serie A season against Torino, while Manchester United face Hull in their opening Premier League fixture as both clubs look to start their respective new chapters on a positive note.
