Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella confirms his contract extension is ‘done’, expressing happiness and confidence in the team’s prospects for the season.

Marc Cucurella has put to rest any speculation surrounding his future at Chelsea, confirming that his contract extension is indeed “done”.

The 27-year-old Spanish defender expressed his delight at the development, saying, “I’m very happy, the club gave me the confidence and I’m very happy to be here. Hopefully, I will have a great year.”

This news comes after reports emerged of a potential €70 million bid from Al-Nassr, which Chelsea reportedly turned down.

Cucurella’s commitment to Chelsea is a significant boost for the team, given his impressive performances last season. He delivered seven goals and four assists in all competitions, playing a crucial role in the Blues’ victories, including the Club World Cup and Conference League titles.

Fellow defender Trevoh Chalobah shares Cucurella’s optimism about the team’s prospects.

After Chelsea’s win in the London derby, Chalobah stated that the squad has the potential to challenge for major titles. “I think definitely,” he said. “By having a strong squad like that, with Champions League and Premier League experience in different positions, everyone is going to be important to achieve something big.”
