Club World Cup champions Chelsea were frustrated by FA Community Shield winners as both teams played a 0-0 draw in the opening game of the Premier League.

Chelsea would’ve hoped for a better start to the season as they played a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were unable to get the ball into the net despite their persistence during the match. Chelsea were on the ascendancy as the game started, but they were pegged back after Eze rifled his free-kick into the net.

The goal was later cancelled by VAR after Guehi was adjudged to be too close to the wall. According to the explanation, Guehi was less than one metre from the wall as the free kick was taken.

Chelsea fought to put themselves in front but it just wasn’t their day. The Blues had two chances cleared off the line, while Delap’s shot from close range flew straight at Henderson.

The Blues piled on the pressure towards the end of the game but Palace’s defense held strong, frustrating Chelsea as the match ended 0-0.
