Jobe Bellingham has joined Borussia Dortmund from Sunderland on a five-year contract in a deal worth £26.96m plus £4.2m in add-ons, following in the footsteps of his brother Jude.
Jobe Bellingham has completed his transfer to Borussia Dortmund from Sunderland on a five-year contract until June 2030.
The 19-year-old midfielder has made 90 appearances for the Black Cats since joining in 2023 and helped them secure promotion to the Premier League last season. The deal, worth £26.96m plus £4.2m in add-ons, is a club record for Sunderland.
Bellingham, who began his career at Birmingham City’s academy, expressed his pride in the relationship he has with Sunderland supporters. “I will always represent Wearside in all that I strive to achieve for the rest of my career, wherever that may be,” he said.
Bellingham thanked the fans for their support, saying he hopes he has made them proud and that they have helped him become the player he is today.
The deal was completed by June 10, allowing Bellingham to play for Dortmund at the Club World Cup, which begins on Sunday.
He follows in the footsteps of his brother Jude, who played for Dortmund before joining Real Madrid in 2023. Jobe Bellingham will look to make an impact for his new team in the prestigious tournament.
