The 20-year-old complained about not being in the starting 11 for the Europa League final against Tottenham

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has unleashed a scathing attack on Alejandro Garnacho in what he sees as a wider cultural decay within the club. It follows the 20-year-old’s apparent criticism of head coach Amorim’s team selection in the club’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.

United lost 1-0 in Bilbao. After the game, Garnacho said to Argentinian media: “Until we reached the final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today – I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.”

His brother and agent echoed the sentiment on social media, expressing discontent with the forward not starting the final. For Jordan, who is known for delivering blunt takes, this is simply unacceptable.

“You embolden these little runts to think they’ve got a sense of entitlement to say these things,” said Jordan on talkSPORT. “The agent is an irrelevance irrespective of whether he’s his brother or not. And United as they are have brought this upon themselves.

“We’ve seen this player before. Pack it in. It’s nonsense, you little weakling. Get on with bringing a performance every week.”

The former football club owner’s tirade wasn’t just aimed at Garnacho, but at what he sees as a lack of discipline, leadership and accountability at Manchester United, a sure sign that they have drifted far from their historic standards.

“This is the club that you’ve created, United. Now, this is the club that you’ve got to get hold of,” said Jordan. “This is what your manager’s got to get hold of.

“Get hold of this dressing room, get hold of this group of players and start to get them to operate at a level that’s vaguely resembling what Manchester United once were before.

“This is the culture that you’ve allowed to generate and there you are. So you reap what you sow.”
