Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti has reportedly been left surprised by the slow progress of the club’s transfer business, with moves for Randal Kolo Muani and Emiliano Martinez yet to be completed ahead of pre-season.
The Italian tactician had expected the Bianconeri to secure both a new centre-forward and a first-choice goalkeeper before the squad returned for pre-season training on July 13. However, negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa have failed to gather momentum.
Talks for Kolo Muani have stalled in recent days as Juventus continue to negotiate with PSG, while discussions over a move for Argentina international goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez have also reached an impasse.

As things stand, teenage signing Jeff Ekhator is expected to be the only new arrival available when Juventus begin preparations for the new campaign next week.
Juventus are reportedly unwilling to match Aston Villa’s valuation of Martinez, with the Serie A giants reluctant to spend more than €6-7 million for the World Cup-winning goalkeeper, who is currently away on international duty with Argentina.

The situation is equally complicated in their pursuit of Kolo Muani. PSG are now believed to be demanding around €50 million, while Juventus are only prepared to commit to a package worth approximately €40 million through a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy.
Kolo Muani has remained Spalletti’s preferred choice to strengthen Juventus’ attack throughout the summer, with the coach eager to reunite the squad with the French forward before the start of the new season.
For now, though, the Bianconeri face an anxious wait as negotiations continue, leaving Spalletti hoping the club can break the deadlock and secure his priority targets before the transfer window gathers further pace.
