Aston Villa are reportedly willing to reduce their asking price for Emiliano Martinez as Juventus step up their efforts to sign the Argentina goalkeeper ahead of the new season.
Juventus have received a major boost in their pursuit of Emiliano Martinez, with reports in Italy claiming Aston Villa are prepared to lower their asking price for the experienced Argentina international.
The Serie A giants are keen to strengthen their goalkeeping department ahead of the 2026-27 campaign and see Martinez as their preferred option.
The Bianconeri are expected to reshape their goalkeeping ranks this summer after inconsistent performances from Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin throughout last season. Juventus are open to moving on one, or even both, of their current shot-stoppers as they look to bring in a proven and experienced replacement.
Martinez has already made it clear that he is interested in the move to Turin, and reports suggest personal terms are no longer an obstacle. Juventus and the World Cup-winning goalkeeper have reportedly agreed a three-year contract worth around €5 million per season.

The biggest obstacle has instead been Aston Villa’s valuation. The Premier League club initially demanded around €10 million plus bonuses for the 33-year-old, a figure Juventus considered excessive given Martinez will celebrate his 34th birthday in September.
Earlier reports even suggested that Juventus hoped to complete the transfer for a minimal fee, believing the goalkeeper’s age and desire to join the Italian club would strengthen their negotiating position. However, Villa remained firm on their initial valuation during the early stages of talks.
According to the latest reports from Italy, Aston Villa have now softened their stance and are prepared to reduce their asking price slightly. While the exact figure has not been disclosed, the willingness to compromise has reopened negotiations between the two clubs.
