Tottenham Hotspur have officially appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach, confirming the Italian’s arrival on a long-term contract. The 46-year-old takes charge with immediate effect as Tottenham look to stabilize their season and build for the future.

The deal, reportedly set to run for five years, sees De Zerbi accept the challenge of leading Tottenham in both domestic and European competitions. His appointment follows the club’s decision to part ways with interim boss Igor Tudor.

Tottenham had identified De Zerbi as a priority target, and negotiations moved quickly once he signaled his willingness to join. The club’s leadership were keen to secure a coach capable of implementing an attacking and progressive style of football.

Speaking after his appointment, De Zerbi expressed excitement about joining one of England’s biggest clubs. He emphasized that Tottenham’s ambition and long-term vision played a major role in his decision to accept the role.

The Italian also outlined his immediate objectives, stressing that improving Tottenham’s position in the Premier League table will be the short-term focus. He added that he is eager to begin working with the players on the training ground.

Sporting Director Johan Lange described De Zerbi as the club’s number one target. He praised the coach’s creativity, forward-thinking approach, and experience at the highest level, including in English football.

De Zerbi built his reputation with attacking football during his time at Sassuolo Calcio before enjoying success with Shakhtar Donetsk, where he won the Ukrainian Super Cup. He later guided Brighton & Hove Albion to their highest-ever Premier League finish and first European qualification.

Most recently, De Zerbi led Olympique de Marseille to a runners-up finish in Ligue 1, securing Champions League football. Tottenham will now hope his arrival sparks a new era and delivers the attractive, competitive football supporters have been craving.
