Arsenal have lost a Premier League game for the first time since August.

Arsenal fans will have a weekend filled with complaints as they squandered a chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal hosted Aston Villa and former manager Unai Emery in a must-win clash. The Gunners needed the win to extend their lead in the Premier League table but Aston Villa pulled off something special.

Villa were closing in on Arsenal as they rose to third in the Premier League courtesy of a 4-3 win over Brighton and against Arsenal, Emery proved himself once again.

Matty Cash gave Villa the lead in the first half to the frustration of Arsenal fans and although the Gunners equalized through Trossard at the start of the second half, Aston Villa piled the pressure and got their deserved lead in the dying minutes of the game through Emil Buendia.

Villa remain third in the Premier League standings while Arsenal see their lead cut short to two points after Manchester City’s win over Sunderland.
