Chelsea forward Cole Palmer is expected to be out of action until November due to a persistent groin injury.

Cole Palmer’s groin injury continues to be a concern for Chelsea, with the forward expected to be out of action until November. The 23-year-old has struggled with recurring groin problems since the injury emerged during Chelsea’s shortened pre-season after their Club World Cup victory in July.

Despite attempts to manage the issue, Palmer’s injury has limited him to just four appearances across all competitions this season.

Palmer’s absence was highlighted in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on September 20, when he was substituted after just 21 minutes.

Manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that the club would take a cautious approach to Palmer’s recovery, resting him for several weeks to prevent the injury from worsening. “We decided to protect Cole… to not let his injury get worse,” Maresca explained.

The injury has raised concerns about Palmer’s long-term availability, with some fearing it could become a chronic issue.

England head coach Thomas Tuchel expressed similar concerns when announcing his squad for the upcoming friendlies, stating that Palmer’s injury was “concerning”.

Palmer’s expected absence will likely see him miss several key games for Chelsea, including matches against Nottingham Forest, Ajax, Sunderland, and Wolves.
