Juventus coach Igor Tudor believes his team was too frantic and nervous in their 2-2 draw against Villarreal, but praises his defenders’ performance.

Igor Tudor, the coach of Juventus, expressed his disappointment and frustration after his team was held to a 2-2 draw by Villarreal in the Champions League.

Despite taking the lead twice, Juventus was denied victory by a late header from Renato Veiga, a former Juventus defender who played for the team on loan last season.

“We worked and prepared as best we could, but we did have some difficulties,” Tudor said, acknowledging his team’s struggles. “There was too much of a frenzy and too many nerves. Too many simple passes we got wrong.”

Tudor believes that his team’s lack of composure and precision in passing was a major factor in their inability to secure a win.

The Juventus coach was impressed by the performance of his defenders, despite Veiga’s late goal. “The three defenders are doing better than anyone else,” Tudor said. “We need to be winning more second balls. The three at the back held the fort for the whole game.”

Tudor also highlighted the impact of Francisco Conceicao, who came on as a substitute at halftime and made a significant difference.

“Chico came on and made the difference,” Tudor said. “We did what we could, even with some mistakes. Unfortunately, they came in the last few minutes.”

Federico Gatti’s acrobatic goal was another highlight of the match, and Tudor was full of praise for the player’s performance. “It was a great goal, he had a great game,” Tudor said. However, the coach couldn’t help but feel a sense of regret over the late concession. “There’s always a feeling of regret when you concede a goal in the last minute,” he said.

Despite the draw, Juventus remains unbeaten across all competitions, and Tudor will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming fixtures. The team will host AC Milan in Serie A on Sunday, and Tudor will be keen to see his team perform better and secure a win.

In his post-match interview, Tudor began by apologizing to Juventus supporters for the late concession. “I’m sorry, it’s part of the game,” he said. “You can’t lose a game in the last seconds from a corner like that. We’ll take this point and move on.”
