Brazil secured their first win of the 2026 World Cup with a convincing 3-0 victory over Haiti.
Brazil got their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign up and running with an impressive 3-0 victory over Haiti, moving to the top of Group C and ending the Caribbean nation’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages.
After a disappointing opening draw against Morocco, Carlo Ancelotti’s side arrived in Philadelphia under pressure to deliver a stronger performance.
Brazil responded positively from the outset and thought they had taken an early lead when Raphinha finished off a clever pass from Bruno Guimaraes, only for the assistant referee’s flag to rule the goal out for offside.
The breakthrough eventually arrived midway through the first half. Vinicius Junior’s powerful effort forced a save from goalkeeper Johny Placide, but Matheus Cunha reacted quickest to force the rebound over the line despite desperate attempts from Hannes Delcroix to clear the danger.
Cunha was in inspired form and doubled Brazil’s advantage not long after. The striker latched onto a perfectly weighted pass from Vinicius before driving a powerful finish past Placide at the near post, giving Haiti a mountain to climb before halftime.

Vinicius then capped off an excellent first-half display by getting on the scoresheet himself. The Real Madrid forward exploited Haiti’s high defensive line, raced through on goal, and calmly slotted his finish beyond Placide to put Brazil firmly in control before the interval.
The only concern for the Selecao came when Raphinha was forced off through injury shortly before the break.
Haiti showed greater attacking intent after halftime and nearly pulled a goal back through Ricardo Ade. The defender met a corner with a glancing header that appeared destined for the net, but Alisson produced an excellent reflex save to preserve Brazil’s clean sheet.
Brazil continued to create opportunities in the second half and thought they had added a fourth when Endrick found the back of the net with a composed finish. However, the young striker’s celebrations were cut short by another offside flag, ensuring the score remained unchanged.

The victory leaves Brazil level on four points with Morocco at the summit of Group C, though the South Americans lead on goal difference.
Ancelotti’s side will now look to secure their place in the Round of 32 when they face Scotland in Miami, while Haiti’s World Cup journey will come to an end regardless of the outcome of their final group-stage fixture.
