Tottenham are reportedly on the verge of signing Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi on a free transfer, with the Argentine set to sign a four-year contract.

The North London side are believed to have reached an agreement with the 29-year-old as far back as March, and the move is now approaching completion. Senesi is reportedly set to sign a four-year contract with Spurs.
The Argentine defender would become Tottenham’s second major addition of the summer, following their agreement to sign Scotland international Andy Robertson as part of Roberto De Zerbi’s rebuilding project.
Senesi enjoyed an outstanding campaign with Bournemouth, featuring in 37 of the club’s 38 Premier League matches as the Cherries secured a historic Europa League qualification by finishing sixth.
Despite Bournemouth’s success, Senesi reportedly views the opportunity to join Tottenham as an attractive new challenge. The move also comes shortly after the defender suffered the disappointment of being left out of Argentina’s World Cup squad.

Bournemouth had attempted to keep the former Feyenoord star at the club, offering him three separate contract proposals. However, negotiations stalled after Senesi rejected the latest offer in December and began exploring opportunities elsewhere.
Since arriving from Feyenoord in 2022, Senesi has made 128 appearances for Bournemouth and established himself as one of the club’s most reliable defenders. Although interest arrived from clubs abroad, the three-cap Argentina international now appears set to remain in the Premier League.
Tottenham view the signing as part of a wider effort to strengthen a squad that narrowly avoided relegation last season. Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham recently admitted the team requires more experience, leadership, and physical strength, making this transfer window a crucial one as Spurs aim to move away from their recent struggles and rebuild under De Zerbi.
