Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have reportedly reached an agreement in principle for Iliman Ndiaye and Richarlison to move in opposite directions.

Richarlison has made it increasingly clear that his time in North London is coming to an end. The Brazilian is one of three Tottenham players to have reportedly asked to leave this week, alongside Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr, as Roberto De Zerbi continues to reshape a Tottenham squad that has undergone a remarkable transformation this summer.

De Zerbi has previously admitted that Richarlison has asked to leave “too many times”, and the 29-year-old’s exit now appears closer than ever. Tottenham have already spent more than £300 million on their rebuild, bringing in the likes of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Omar Marmoush and Savio, leaving Richarlison facing an increasingly difficult battle for minutes in a revamped attack.

According to reports, Tottenham and Everton have reached an agreement in principle that would see Richarlison return to the club where he made his name in English football, while Ndiaye heads in the opposite direction.

For Tottenham, Ndiaye would represent another major addition to an attack that has been completely overhauled. The Senegal international has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester City and Arsenal, while his decision to reject multiple contract offers from Everton suggested that a move was already on his mind. At 26, he could also offer De Zerbi a player entering his prime rather than another long-term project.

For Everton, meanwhile, bringing Richarlison back would be an emotional reunion as much as a footballing decision. The Brazilian became a fan favourite during his time at Goodison Park, scoring 53 goals in 152 appearances before earning his £60 million move to Tottenham in 2022. A return to Merseyside could give him the opportunity to revive a career that has stalled somewhat in North London.

With Everton’s next Premier League fixture coming against Manchester United next Sunday, Richarlison could potentially make his return to Merseyside sooner than anyone expected.
