Roma have officially announced contract extensions for Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante, securing the futures of two of the club’s most experienced players. Mancini has signed a new deal until 2029, while Cristante has committed his future to the Giallorossi until 2028.
The renewals come as Roma continue preparations for their return to the UEFA Champions League under new head coach Gian Piero Gasperini. Keeping experienced leaders at the club has been a key priority, with both Mancini and Cristante expected to play important roles in the manager’s long-term plans.
Mancini’s extension also ends months of speculation surrounding his future. The Italian defender had entered the final year of his previous contract, attracting strong interest from Inter Milan as they searched for defensive reinforcements following the departures of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.
Despite Inter’s efforts, Roma remained determined to keep the centre-back, and the club has now been rewarded with a long-term agreement. Since joining from Atalanta in 2019, Mancini has made 319 appearances for the capital club, scoring 23 goals while establishing himself as one of the team’s leaders.

Cristante’s new contract is equally significant after another consistent spell in the heart of Roma’s midfield. The Italian international has featured 364 times for the Giallorossi since arriving in 2018, making him one of the club’s ten highest appearance-makers in history.
Known for his versatility and professionalism, Cristante has remained a key figure regardless of the manager in charge. His ability to play in midfield or defence, combined with his leadership qualities, has made him an invaluable member of Roma’s squad over the past eight seasons.
Roma’s latest contract announcements continue a busy period of squad planning. The club recently secured a new deal for Paulo Dybala, while Zeki Celik had also agreed fresh terms before eventually leaving for Juventus after allowing his previous contract to expire.
