Rio Ferdinand has urged Arsenal to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, believing the England international would be a bargain addition for the Gunners.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has encouraged Arsenal to make a move for Marcus Rashford, insisting the England international would be an excellent signing as speculation over the forward’s future continues this summer.
Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, where he impressed with a string of strong performances. However, the Catalan giants opted against making the transfer permanent after strengthening their attack with the arrivals of Anthony Gordon and other targets, leaving little room for the 28-year-old in their long-term plans.
The forward is expected to return to Manchester United, but the club is reportedly open to offers should a suitable bid arrive. That has alerted several clubs, with Arsenal emerging as one of the sides monitoring his situation as they look to bolster their frontline.

Despite receiving limited playing time at the FIFA World Cup, Rashford remains highly regarded for his versatility, pace and experience. His ability to operate across the front three makes him an attractive option for Mikel Arteta, who is keen to add greater depth and quality to his attacking options.
Arsenal could be forced into reshaping their forward line this summer, with both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard reportedly expected to leave the club. Should either player depart, Rashford has been identified as a potential replacement capable of making an immediate impact.
Ferdinand believes Arsenal should waste no time in pursuing the Manchester United academy graduate if he becomes available for the reported asking price. Speaking on his YouTube channel alongside Stephen Howson, the former defender made his stance clear.
“I’m taking Rashford,” Ferdinand said. “For £40 million, I am sweeping Marcus Rashford off his feet.”
Whether Arsenal decide to formalise their interest remains to be seen, but Rashford’s future is expected to be one of the major storylines of the transfer window. With Manchester United willing to listen to offers and Arsenal still searching for attacking reinforcements, the coming weeks could prove decisive.
