Neymar has returned to on-pitch training with Brazil for the first time since his calf injury, but the veteran forward remains unlikely to feature against Haiti at the World Cup.
Brazil received a welcome boost on Tuesday as Neymar returned to training on the pitch for the first time since arriving at the World Cup, although the veteran forward is still unlikely to be available for Friday’s Group C clash against Haiti.
The 34-year-old took part in physical exercises and ball work during a closed training session in the United States. While the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed his return to the field, Neymar has yet to rejoin full team activities.

His appearance on the training pitch marks another step forward in his recovery after a calf injury disrupted his preparations for the tournament.
Neymar has spent the past few weeks working closely with physiotherapists and fitness coaches as he looks to regain full fitness.
Despite the positive signs, Brazil are taking a cautious approach with their star player. Neymar has not yet participated in tactical drills alongside his teammates, making a return against Haiti highly unlikely at this stage.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain forward suffered the injury during Santos’ 3-0 defeat to Coritiba last month, casting doubt over his availability for the World Cup.
Even so, head coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to keep him in the squad in the hope that he could recover during the competition.

The latest setback is another frustrating chapter in what has been a difficult period for Neymar. Injuries have repeatedly interrupted his career in recent years, and he has not played a competitive match for Brazil in almost three years.
Brazil’s World Cup campaign got off to a disappointing start with a 1-1 draw against Morocco, increasing the desire among supporters to see Neymar return as soon as possible. His creativity and experience could prove crucial as the tournament progresses.
