The Premier League returns this weekend as Brentford host Tottenham Hotspur in an all-London clash at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur begin a new era on Saturday when they travel to Brentford for their opening game of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
After narrowly avoiding relegation for the second consecutive campaign, Spurs have undergone a major rebuild this summer. Roberto De Zerbi has been handed an extensively reshaped squad as Tottenham look to move away from the relegation battle and back towards the top half of the Premier League.
The pressure will be high from the opening whistle. Tottenham have invested heavily in their squad, bringing in the likes of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, while they have also been linked with further attacking reinforcements.
Brentford, meanwhile, will be hoping to build on a strong end to their pre-season and make another push for European football after narrowly missing out last season.

Team News
Tottenham will be without Micky van de Ven after De Zerbi confirmed that the defender will miss the opening game. That should see new signings Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke form the centre-back pairing, with Andrew Robertson expected to make his competitive debut at left-back.
Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Pape Sarr, Dejan Kulusevski, Pedro Porro and Mohammed Kudus are also unavailable, while Dominic Solanke, Mateus Fernandes and James Maddison are expected to be fit enough to feature.
The visitors will hope their new-look midfield can immediately make an impact, with Tonali and Fernandes potentially starting together.
Brentford also have injury concerns of their own. Sepp van den Berg and Antoni Milambo are ruled out, but Keith Andrews otherwise has a strong squad available.
The Bees enter the game with plenty of confidence after winning their final four pre-season matches. Their final outing was particularly impressive, as Brentford demolished Eintracht Frankfurt 7-0, with Igor Thiago and Kevin Schade both scoring twice.
