Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly interested in Borussia Dortmund defender Daniel Svensson, with the Bundesliga club expected to demand around €30 million for the Swedish international.
Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly identified Borussia Dortmund full-back Daniel Svensson as a potential transfer target ahead of the new season. The Swedish international has attracted interest after impressing in the Bundesliga and representing his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to reports, both Premier League heavyweights are closely monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation. Liverpool are believed to be leading the race as they continue to strengthen their defensive options following Andy Robertson’s departure to Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer.
Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the Dortmund defender as Mikel Arteta continues to evaluate options to strengthen his squad. The Gunners see Svensson as a versatile full-back who could fit their tactical system and add valuable depth on the left flank.
Borussia Dortmund are in a strong negotiating position, with Svensson under contract until 2029. Reports suggest the Bundesliga club would demand a transfer fee of around €30 million before considering any sale this summer.
Dortmund signed Svensson from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland just 18 months ago for approximately €6.5 million, making any potential transfer a significant profit for the German club. Since arriving, he has established himself as a regular member of the first team.
The defender has made 45 Bundesliga appearances, including 35 starts, and continued his development by featuring for Sweden at the 2026 World Cup. He started in his country’s Round of 32 defeat to France, gaining valuable experience on football’s biggest stage.
While Dortmund have already secured the signing of highly-rated youngster Kauã Prates for the same position, the 17-year-old is currently sidelined with injury. Even so, the German club are under no pressure to sell Svensson, leaving Liverpool and Arsenal with a substantial fee to negotiate if they decide to formalise their interest.
