Liam Rosenior has been named the new Paris FC manager on a two-year contract after his short-lived spell at Chelsea.
Liam Rosenior has returned to management after being appointed as the new head coach of Paris FC, just months after his dismissal by Chelsea.
The 41-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 club, with the agreement understood to include an option for a further season.

Rosenior’s time at Stamford Bridge lasted less than four months after he was sacked in April, but the former defender has wasted little time securing his next opportunity. He returns to France, where he previously impressed during his spell with Chelsea’s sister club, Strasbourg.
Paris FC confirmed that Rosenior will replace Antoine Kombouare after the club finished 11th in Ligue 1 last season. Backed by the Arnault family, with Red Bull holding a minority stake, Paris FC are aiming to establish themselves among France’s leading clubs in the coming years.
In announcing his appointment, the club praised Rosenior’s experience at the highest level, his track record of developing young players and his commitment to an attractive, attacking style of football.
Rosenior took charge of Chelsea in January after replacing Enzo Maresca, whose relationship with the club hierarchy had broken down before his move to Manchester City.
Although the former Hull City boss enjoyed an encouraging start, Chelsea’s form deteriorated sharply as they lost each of their final five Premier League matches without finding the back of the net.
Despite that disappointing spell, Rosenior’s reputation remains strong thanks to his impressive work at Strasbourg. He guided the French side to a seventh-place finish during the 2024/25 campaign, securing UEFA Conference League qualification with the youngest squad across Europe’s top five leagues.

Rosenior’s coaching journey began with Brighton’s Under-23 side before he joined Derby County, initially serving as Wayne Rooney’s assistant before stepping in as interim manager.
He later took charge of Hull City, leading the Tigers to 15th place in his first Championship season before narrowly missing the play-offs with a seventh-place finish the following year.
Chelsea have since moved in a different direction by appointing former Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso as their new manager, making him the sixth permanent head coach under BlueCo ownership.
