The 25-year-old has failed to make any impact since arriving in 2024 and a move would suit all parties
Juventus have approached Manchester United and made their interest in Joshua Zirkzee known.
The Serie A club are considering either signing the forward outright or concluding a loan deal with an obligation or option to buy at the end of the season, similar to the deal United did with Napoli, who signed Rasmus Hojlund on loan last summer before completing a permanent move this year for a combined £43.2m.
United are not actively placing Zirkzee on the market but are willing to listen to offers for him, according to sources familiar with the situation. The club would also prefer a direct sale if a deal is to be done.
It would be a wise move for United to move the 25-year-old on. He arrived from Bologna in 2024 for a £36.5m fee but has failed to make any impact whatsoever, scoring only five Premier League goals in 56 appearances, a paltry return for a forward at a club like United.

He does not even clearly know which position he would prefer to play, describing himself as a “9.5”, a position that does not exist. His meaning is clear enough but the statement still encapsulates Zirkzee’s position at United. He is stuck in limbo; there is no clear role for him. He has been played primarily as a No 9, but it does not seem to suit his abilities.
In pre-season so far this summer, Michael Carrick has deployed him as a No 10, but there are others at United who can play the position better and there are still questions over whether Zirkzee himself can do it at the high level of the Premier League.
After two years, he retains enough value for United to recoup much of the investment they made for him. While establishing himself in the United squad next season is not to be ruled out, there is also a chance that he remains on the fringes and his value drops further. A move to the Serie A would likely suit all parties.
