Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram has undergone surgery on his right knee and is expected to miss at least four months, dealing a major setback to the Old Lady early in the new Serie A campaign.
Juventus have confirmed that Khephren Thuram has undergone surgery on his right knee, with reports in Italy suggesting the midfielder could be sidelined until the beginning of next year.
Thuram has been dealing with cartilage degeneration in his kneecap and has not featured since the end of last season. The 25-year-old has now undergone an operation in an attempt to resolve the problem, with multiple sources reporting that he faces a minimum absence of four months.
The injury is a significant blow for Juventus, particularly after their encouraging start to the new Serie A campaign. The Turin side have won their opening two league matches after finishing sixth last season and missing out on Champions League qualification.

Thuram joined Juventus from Ligue 1 side Nice in 2024 and has gradually established himself as an important part of the midfield. He has scored six goals in 70 Serie A appearances across his first two seasons in Turin.
The French international comes from one of football’s most recognisable families. He is the younger brother of Inter forward Marcus Thuram and the son of former France defender Lilian Thuram, who won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with Les Bleus.
Juventus will now have to cope without the younger Thuram for a significant portion of the season as they look to maintain their perfect start and challenge for a return to Europe’s elite competition.
