Erling Haaland is being underrated this season. With 35 goals in all competitions, nobody seems to be talking about him.
Erling Haaland is being underrated. Words you thought you’ll never see put together in your life but this is the truth.
Haaland is having one of those seasons that will go under the radar and when people look back, they’ll wonder, why did we never talk about this?

For the 2025/26 season, Haaland is one of the top performers across Europe’s top five leagues.
Starting with the Premier League, Haaland finished the season with 27 goals, winning his third golden boot award in four years.

Winning the Premier League golden boot is expected of Haaland. At this point, it’s starting to feel like his birthright but what wasn’t expected of Haaland this season is finishing with the fourth most assists in the Premier League this season.
Haaland ended the season with 8 Premier League assists. At one point in the season where he had six assists, he had the second highest assists in the Premier League.
Although Manchester City didn’t win the Premier League and only won a domestic double, Haaland has quietly had an impressive season and surprisingly, nobody is putting in conversations for the best player in the Premier League.
If Gyökeres had Haaland’s numbers this season 26 league goals and 8 assists. It would be an absolute No Brainer for PL Player of the Year. What I want to understand is why it’s different for Haaland

Of course, Bruno has won it and he is among the top contenders for the PFA Player of The Season, but Haaland deserves a shout too.
He didn’t only deliver great numbers in the Premier League, he racked up a good amount of goals in the Champions League as well.
Haaland scored 8 goals in the Champions League and for the European Golden Boot award, he sits in third place, just behind Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane.
🚨 OFFICIAL: Harry Kane wins the European Golden Boot with most goals scored in top leagues. 👟✨

The above-mentioned players have outperformed Haaland with Kane even making a great case for the Ballon d’Or. However, Haaland deserves some more credit and accolades for the type of season he’s had.
His eight assists shows that he also tried to get into the sequence of play more and help his team perform better, especially when he had that goal drought.
He won’t win the PFA award or grace the top 6 for the Balon d’Or but he’s had a season that every true football fan should be proud of, a season that shouldn’t go down quietly.
