Borussia Dortmund ended their Bundesliga campaign with a 2-0 win over Werder Bremen as Serhou Guirassy and Yan Couto scored in an impressive final-day performance.
Borussia Dortmund wrapped up their 2025/26 Bundesliga season with a comfortable 2-0 victory away to Werder Bremen, finishing the campaign on 73 points, their highest tally since the 2018/19 season.
Despite having little left to play for, Niko Kovač’s side approached the contest with intensity from the opening whistle and quickly began creating opportunities against the hosts at the Weserstadion.
Serhou Guirassy and Samuele Inácio both tested Bremen goalkeeper Mio Backhaus inside the opening minutes, with the young shot-stopper producing a string of excellent saves to keep Dortmund at bay during a dominant start from the visitors.

Dortmund continued to threaten throughout the first half, with Julian Ryerson delivering a dangerous cross for Guirassy, who headed narrowly wide. Bremen briefly believed they had taken the lead midway through the opening period, but Amos Pieper’s finish was correctly ruled out for offside following Cameron Puertas’ free-kick.
Former Dortmund forward Justin Njinmah looked dangerous on the counterattack before halftime and nearly punished his old side with a burst of pace that left Nico Schlotterbeck struggling to recover, although the striker volleyed his effort wide.
The visitors resumed the second half in similar fashion, constantly pushing for the breakthrough. Guirassy was again denied by the inspired Backhaus after chances created by Inácio and Daniel Svensson, but the Guinean striker eventually found the net just before the hour mark.
Ryerson delivered an inviting cross into the area and Guirassy used his physical strength brilliantly to outmuscle Marco Friedl before powering a header into the near post for his goal of the afternoon.
Werder Bremen thought they had found a late equaliser through Karim Coulibaly, only for VAR to rule the effort out for a marginal offside decision. Dortmund then sealed the victory in stoppage time when Karim Adeyemi raced forward on the counterattack before setting up Yan Couto, who calmly finished to complete a strong end to the Bundesliga season for the Black and Yellows.
