Galatasaray are set to sign Sacha Boey permanently from Bayern Munich, leaving the German club facing a financial loss on the underperforming defender.

Galatasaray are reportedly preparing to make Sacha Boey’s loan move permanent, with the Turkish giants leaning toward activating a €15 million buy option at the end of the season.

Boey, currently on loan from Bayern Munich, appears unlikely to return to the Bundesliga side, bringing a relatively short and underwhelming spell in Germany to a close.

According to reports, Galatasaray are seriously considering triggering the clause, which would secure the defender’s services on a long-term basis. If the deal goes through, Bayern would recover only half of the €30 million they initially paid to sign Boey from Galatasaray in January 2024, representing a notable financial loss for the German champions.

Boey arrived in Munich with high expectations but struggled to establish himself as a key figure in the squad, failing to consistently deliver the level of performance anticipated. During his time at Bayern, the 25-year-old made 38 appearances across competitions, contributing one goal and five assists, numbers that fell short of justifying his price tag.

With Galatasaray now eager to bring him back permanently, Boey looks set for a return to familiar surroundings, while Bayern prepares to move on from a signing that ultimately did not pay off.

Boey isn’t the only player looking to leave Bayern this summer. Kim Min-Jae is currently considering a move out of the club, with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe interested. Bayern are also open to offers for Alphonso Davies and Leon Goretzka.
