Luis Enrique has declared that no side in Europe is superior to PSG as the defending champions prepare for the Champions League semi-final battle against Bayern Munich.

Luis Enrique has issued a statement of supreme confidence ahead of PSG’s Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, insisting that while the German champions may be one of the most consistent teams in Europe, there is no side performing at a higher overall level than his own.

The PSG manager struck an assertive tone on the eve of Tuesday’s first leg, making it clear that his players enter the tie believing they are every bit the equals of anyone left in the competition.

The clash brings together two of the continent’s most explosive attacking machines.

Bayern Munich have stormed through Europe with 16 goals across the last 16 and quarter-finals, while PSG have scored 12 in the same period. Both clubs also sit among the strongest defensive units statistically, turning this semi-final into an epic battle.

Luis Enrique was quick to acknowledge Bayern’s remarkable consistency this season. Vincent Kompany’s men have already wrapped up the Bundesliga title and have suffered only two defeats across domestic and European competition combined.

Arsenal, too, received praise from the Spaniard for their stability and growth. Yet despite those compliments, Enrique remained adamant that when measuring pure team performance, intensity, tactical cohesion and footballing quality, PSG belong at the summit.

The PSG coach pointed out that he said something similar earlier in the campaign when his team failed to finish inside the top eight during the league phase. At that point many observers questioned whether the French champions looked vulnerable, but Enrique maintained then that he had not seen a side clearly superior to his own.

That confidence is rooted in experience. PSG were forced to battle through difficult playoff and knockout ties last season before eventually lifting the Champions League for the first time in club history. Rather than treating that triumph as a mission completed, Enrique believes it has created a deeper hunger inside the dressing room.

The manager also made it clear that Bayern’s dangerous wide threats will not force PSG into abandoning their identity. With players like Luis Diaz and Michael Olise capable of punishing teams in transition, there is obvious reason for caution. But Enrique stressed that PSG won Europe last season because full-backs Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes attacked relentlessly, and he has no intention of asking them to retreat into fear now.

Instead, PSG intend to trust the same aggressive blueprint that brought them continental glory. Enrique acknowledged that defensive concentration will be essential, but he repeatedly emphasized that his side’s full-backs and wingers must attack more than they defend if PSG are to impose themselves.
