The announcement came after Napoli’s 1-0 victory over Udinese on the final day of the season, a result that capped off another positive year for the club under the Italian coach.

Speaking after the match, Conte described his time in Naples as a special experience and said the decision to depart had been made some weeks earlier in discussions with the club hierarchy.
“It’s been an honour, really special to coach Napoli… It’s been two great seasons, an exceptional experience,” Conte said, adding that the club would “always be home” for him.
Conte revealed that he personally informed club president Aurelio De Laurentiis of his decision, stressing that the move was not sudden but carefully communicated in advance.
