Arsenal have finally ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title. The question they need to answer is what next?
Literally, the next big thing for Arsenal is the Champions League final vs PSG.
Can Arsenal win the Champions League for the first time in their history? This answer will be made known on Saturday.
However, Arsenal need to start planning for the next season. Winning the Premier League after waiting for 22 years is an incredible story but is this where it ends?
Can the Gunners do more incredible things after this season? Not to take away from the joy of the moment but this thought should’ve rung in the head of Arsenal fans.
Saka has said this is their time. After the years of banter, yes. But what happens next time and the time after that? Have Arsenal built a team that can dominate for the next 3-5 years?
Honestly, the answer is yes but not a straightforward yes.
Arsenal have finished second in the Premier League for 3 straight seasons and in that time, the same group of players have shared the pitch, and the highs and lows that have come with those seasons.
Adding a few more stars to the mix has complimented their work over the past 4 years and now handed them the trophy.
You can argue that they don’t need to change anything because these players have shown that they are winners but a stern look at Arsenal’s playing style this season shows that they may need a few more tweaks.
The defence and goalkeeping departments are in safe hands but where changes would need to happen are in midfield and attack.
Declan Rice was almost run to the ground this season and having being picked for the 2026 World Cup, he could start the season really fatigued. Arteta would either have to trust Norgaard or buy a midfielder he can trust to take a few minutes off Rice.
Martinelli and Trossard have helped Arsenal win the Premier League title but they haven’t exactly had good seasons. Both wingers don’t exactly strike fear into their opponents or show a semblance that they make something out of nothing.
With other teams counting their losses and hoping to build squads that can also win the Premier League title, Arsenal will need to get a more prolific winger on the left hand side.
The Gunners could also add more competition to the right wing, giving Saka and Madueke a run for their money and the same could apply to the creative midfield position.
Eze and Odegaard are brilliant players and they have shown that in select games this season but a lot is lacking when Arsenal try to create chances or break down stubborn defences.
Odegaard has been known to delay final passes or not even play them at all on multiple occasions while Eze has strolled through a number of games. Both players would either have to be at their best or Arsenal could add a little competition in there.
