Bayern Munich have revived their interest in PSV and United States defender Sergino Dest, with reports suggesting the Bundesliga champions could sign him alongside teammate Ismael Saibari this summer.
Bayern Munich’s summer recruitment drive appears to be gathering momentum, with reports suggesting the Bundesliga champions are interested in signing PSV Eindhoven defender Sergino Dest in addition to midfielder Ismael Saibari.
The Bavarians are already believed to be closing in on a deal for Saibari after identifying the Moroccan international as one of their priority targets ahead of the new season. However, Bayern’s focus on PSV may not end there.
According to reports from Netherlands, Dest has emerged as another player under serious consideration by the German giants. The versatile right-back is reportedly on Bayern’s shortlist as they look to strengthen their defensive options.

The report claims that a transfer fee in the region of €23-25 million could be enough to secure the services of the 25-year-old, who is currently preparing to represent the United States at the upcoming World Cup.
Dest is no stranger to Bayern’s radar. The German club first showed interest in the defender during his breakthrough years at Ajax, when he was regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young full-backs.
However, Bayern ultimately missed out on his signature in 2020 when he opted to join Barcelona. His move to Spain was viewed as a major step in his development, although his time at Camp Nou proved inconsistent.
After struggling to establish himself as a regular starter in Barcelona, Dest eventually returned to the Netherlands, where he rebuilt his reputation with PSV. His performances have once again attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Should Bayern proceed with a move, Dest could become the second PSV player to make the switch to Munich this summer. With the Bundesliga champions eager to strengthen multiple areas of their squad, the American defender may soon have the opportunity to finally complete a transfer that was first considered several years ago.
